“Way back in the 1990s…” There used to be a webcomic.  Rude, crude, lewd.  Very “Non-”PC” very “Family UN-Friendly”...  The edge of what even a super “Free Speech” local ISP would let me host at the time - thank goodness for porn and extremist and darkweb nightmare fuel tolerant “Dreamhost” whom I’ve used more than a decade…!   A tribute to fantasy and insult to it’s tropes but love letter all the same.  Frustration, inflicted on the world that causes me pain...  About a bunch of Goblins up to mischief in and in the outskirts of a human city full of vice set in a cave… Crag City.  A bit of a sendup of Tolkien since the author is far more a fan of Lord Dunsany whom few if any know about. Well it gained some small popularity but languished under sporadic updates caused by real life issues the author dealt with.  At least there was no promise of a graphic novel or video game to lead people on in Kickstarter and then run with their money with nothing to show, no advertisers to disappoint, etc.  The long and short I’ve moved on to better things but had quite a trauma in my life related to the long dying out of Braarwood.  It got so that if I tried to even draw Grilmac I’d not draw a thing for 4 weeks… This is a closure page.  I’ve had lots of ideas for Braarwood - from short animations to video games to longer stories, published novels - even a TV short with them as puppets - kind of a near R rated Muppet knock-off… Serious -I did computer work for a local television provider for a while - was starting a union petition for that but of course we got sold out and the place closed before could do…  Was going to demand a counter-austerity (austerity = big boss ripping off what he’s promised workers to keep his own standard of living despite being a shit of a person as well as a businessman) benefit called “Employee Channel” where we work for our extra $ by making a channel with stuff we provide (as long as we can legally use it) and then earn $ based off of ad revenue.  I’d have made the sets, puppets, pressure spray for the fake vomit from the goblins, etc. and pooled resources with others for initial investment then paid out revenue based on ads…  Oh, well…  Nope - didn’t make it to put it on the “Tube” since didn’t trust “Tube” and recent news well it was quite placed well…  But there is some kind of karmic force stopping me from seriously updating this work.  I’ve tried dozens of times and run into a block or a tragedy.  I think it’s my larger soul demanding I move on since my expanded work is much better while intellectually I’d have been very happy regularly updating and expanding Braarwood... Again, I’ve moved on to bigger and better things - self-published author for instance.  Budding prog/synthwave musician.  A few published articles.  Travels across the world to even India.   The old email is flooded with spam - copy the email here and remove “nospam-” to email me if you are an old friend or fan.  Do me a favor and tell me if we discussed something earlier, like on the old “Elfwood” pages... Beyond is the archived, frozen Braarwood page.  I’ll keep the website up and domain active for the long term, no real issue for me.  It’s funny coz I’m a fan of the late Vaughn Bode (and his son) and hoped Braarwood would be my “Deadbone” - an experimental first major work - and it turned out it is. Maybe someday I’ll return to the woods surrounding the City of Crag City built upon what used to be the Great Goblin Cave along with Grilmac and his friends, family, enemies…  But that might be a later date so will make no promises or hints for now.
